Hi, my name is Gena Pavek
For more than two decades, I've had the privilege of helping children discover the confidence that comes from being able to express themselves clearly.
As my career evolved, I found myself continually drawn to older children and teens whose /r/ sound simply never seemed to click.
Watching those breakthrough moments and seeing the confidence that followed, inspired me to dedicate my practice exclusively to helping children overcome persistent /r/ errors.

Q1. Why hasn't my child's /r/ sound corrected itself?
The /r/ sound is one of the most complex movements in speech. By the time children reach upper elementary or middle school, their brain has often become very efficient at procuding the same speech pattern, even if its incorrect.
Q2. How is "Well Said " unique?
No two children struggle with their /r/ for the same reason. Every child begins a comprehensive analysis and break down of /r/ sound rather than a generalized assessment. Treatment is tailored to your childs unique needs and learning style. It includes motor learning principles, high repetition practice, auditory & self monitoring training, individualized cueing and feedback, and natural carryover activities.
Q3. Why should I choose private therapy if my child receives speech services at school?
School based and private speech therapy often have different goals. School services support a child's educational needs, while private therapy allows for specialized, one-on-one treatment focused specifically on persistent /r/ sound errors. Many families choose both to give their child the best opportunity for success. Some students may not qualify for therapy in the school.
Q4. Is my child too old to correct their /r/ sound?
It's never too late to retrain new motor pathways, auditory awareness and develop a confident /r/ sound. Older children and teens can make meaningful progress with the right approach. Many families come to "Well Said"™ after years of waiting or trying other therapies.
