Hi, my name is Gena Pavek
I am a Speech and Language Pathologist with over 23 years of experience supporting students with articulation and communication needs.

Today, my practice is focused specifically on persistent R and vocalic R errors in elementary and middle school students.
​
Over the years, I have worked with a wide range of speech profiles. One pattern remains consistent: R errors often linger longer than expected and require a more precise, structured approach to resolve.

I work with families who want focused correction- not open ended therapy an have busy work, sports and activities schedules.

My approach is direct, respectful, and age appropriate for older students who are ready to improve.

Why persistent R errors don't resolve on their own.
By upper elementary and middle school, R errors are rarely about effort. They are reinforced motor patterns. Years of repetition create stability in the brain's speech system. Correcting it requires more than reminders to try again or drills.

It requires: precise placement analysis, structured motor retraining, controlled progression, clear performance benchmarks. This is where specialization matters.
